Case of the Week (week 33, 2021)
75-year-old female. Increase in opacity detected in screening mammogram.
A first mammogram in December 2020 showed an increase in opacity pointed out by Mammoscreen in the right breast, a first radiologist performed an ultrasound without any suspicious abnormality.
A 6-month follow-up is requested.
Mammoscreen again points to the same extra density of the right breast.
A new ultrasound is performed and still no abnormality is found.
However, the extra opacity does not disappear on the compression slice.
Mammoscreen confirms the suspicion of the radiologist, who completed with an MRI that confirms a suspicious lesion at the union of the upper quadrant of the right breast.
