Case of the Week (week 34, 2021)

A 73-year-old woman, screening mammogram. Two years prior, her screening mammogram was considered normal by two readers.

At first glance, the new mammogram was also considered normal and unchanged from the previous one, but MammoScreen showed a lesion on the right breast.

The retrospective analysis of the previous by MammoScreen showed the same area.

The MRI showed a spiculated mass on the right breast.

At first glance, another radiologist failed to find the lesion with ultrasound and tried biopsy twice without success.

Finally, another radiologist succeeded in locating it through ultrasound and performed an ultrasound-guided biopsy. The biopsy confirms a luminal invasive breast carcinoma A.
