Case of the Week (week 46, 2023)
73-year-old woman, screening.
Mammoscreen points to a suspicious lesion (red flag) in both the right and left breast but also a possible deep suspicious lesion of the left breast.
A biopsy is performed on the suspicious lesions of the right breast and the left breast; the biopsy finds an infiltrating ductal carcinoma in the right breast and a lobular component carcinoma in the left.
A breast MRI confirms the suspicious character of the deep rounded lesion of the left breast classified orange (MammoScreen Score™ of 6).
A marking by harpoon is placed on the 3 lesions; the surgery confirms that the deep nodular image on the left corresponds to an infiltrating ductal carcinoma.
