Case of the week (week 21, 2021)
MammoScreen® can help not to confuse a suspicious mass with an intramammary lymph node:
Screening mammogram, 73 years old patient.
Family history of breast cancer: mother and maternal aunt.
Emergence of a 6mm superior-internal mass with circumscribed contours, 9cm far from the nipple, pointed by MammoScreen as “indeterminate”.
Ultrasound revealed a round hypoechoic lesion with a peripheral hyperechoic halo of 6mm radius.
3 microbiopsies under ultrasound guidance were performed, a clip was placed.
Biopsy positive for cancer.
*Case from Valenciennes hospital.
