Case of the week (week 27, 2023)
A 45-year-old patient comes in with a mass in the right breast.
Mammoscreen doesn’t detect any abnormalities.
The radiologist finds in ultrasound an oval mass of 30 mm.The MRI performed confirms the absence of suspicious contrast. The mass found in the echography was therefore benign.
MammoScreen helped detect a true negative, contrary to the false negative the radiologist assumed on first reading.
