Axia Women’s Health has introduced MammoScreen, an advanced AI tool designed to support radiologists in detecting breast cancer earlier and more accurately.
In an interview with Fox29, Dr. Thomas Dardarian, Chief Medical Officer at Axia Women’s Health, shared his experience using AI in mammography.
“It’s a technology we wanted to bring to our patients. MammoScreen works as a second set of eyes with the radiologist. The radiologist reads the mammogram, and then MammoScreen reviews it—green is good, yellow is intermediate, and red is highly suspicious.”
This technology helps identify subtle abnormalities that might otherwise go unnoticed. Watch the full interview here:

Meanwhile, Dr. Richard Gates, Co-Chief Medical Officer at Axia Women’s Health, discussed the success of MammoScreen on Daybreak.
“The AI system has been trained on millions of mammograms, both 2D and 3D, to identify subtle abnormalities. It assigns each image a score from 1 to 10 to indicate the level of suspicion.” He added “I personally had a patient that was diagnosed sooner so I was wondering if that could be very well responsible for that earlier detection.”
Importantly, MammoScreen comes at no added cost to patients, yet the benefits are significant—studies show it can detect up to 38.5% of cancers up to two years before diagnosis.
